With over 25 years of experience, we’re pioneers of the organic beauty and we’re as proud as can be to be rated as one of the UK’s most ethical beauty brands by the The Good Shopping Guide. Here we reveal what goes into being green.
We set the standards
Our founder, Charlotte, played a key role in setting the first natural and organic cosmetic standards that were established by the Soil Association Health & Beauty Products Standards committee.
Since those early days, other cosmetic certification standards have been created and Green People is proud to have products certified by COSMOS as well as products certified by the Organic Food Federation and The Soil Association.

We're cruelty free
You can rest assured that we have never tested our products on animals and never will. We have cruelty-free certification from PETA and do not commission animal testing of any raw material, cosmetic ingredient or finished product.
Almost all our products are vegan too and verified by The Vegan Society.
And marine friendly sun care
Our natural and organic sun creams are all oxybenzone free – and always have been – so that they are safe for our seas. From every sale of our 200ml Scent Free Sun Cream, we make a donation to the Marine Conservation Society.
It’s not only land animals that we want to protect! When making our skin care our aim is to create non-toxic formulas that deliver gentle but effective care without harming the environment.
To deliver on this promise we’ve ensured that our sun cream range is reef-safe and make a donation from every sale of our full-size SPF30 sun creams to the Marine Conservation Society.
Sustainably sourced beauty
We use sustainably sourced ingredients and never use endangered plants in our natural and organic formulations.
We use wild-harvested Truffle in our Nordic Roots Truffle Night Cream and the Alpine Willow used in our Charcoal Face Mask is extracted using pure mountain water and sourced from organic and sustainable cultures to preserve natural sites and Alpine biodiversity.
We’re big fans of by-product beauty ingredients too and use these whenever we can.
Beauty that gives back to nature
Nature gives us the inspiration and ingredients for our plant-based products, and we see it as our duty to safeguard the environment by giving back to nature through our charity partners.
10% of our net profit goes to charity and members of our loyalty programme can top up this fund by donating Green Points to our charitable partners.
These include the Knepp Wildland Foundation,The World Land Trust and The Marine Conservation Society.
British-made beauty
To minimise our carbon footprint, we keep our production local. Apart from our make-up and our Nordic Roots range, all our products are made in the UK.
Considered packaging
We are proud to present all our squeezy tube products in plant-based packaging made from sugar cane.
For every kilo of sugar cane plastic produced, 3 kilos of CO2 gas is removed from our atmosphere. This exchange can be described as being climate positive.
We also introduced a trio of plastic-free shampoo bars and have introduced recycled plastic into some of our plastic packaging.
We recycle wherever possible and, to reduce unnecessary packaging waste, we repurpose our delivery boxes and use them to transport our products from our door to yours.
So that your products stay safe in transit we pack them with compostable packing chips made from biodegradable non-GMO corn starch which can be dissolved in water, easily composted, or repurposed as craft materials.
